Calculate Your Event Carbon Footprint

Carbon footprint calculations are typically based on emissions generated during the event period, including pre-event preparation and post-event activities. If your event spans multiple days, you may calculate emissions for the complete duration of the event.

Event Duration:

From: 01-01-2025 To: 05-01-2025 Or select any custom date range as per your event schedule. Next, visit each tab to calculate your complete event carbon footprint. You can support carbon offset projects that tackle climate change and support environmental sustainability through plantation and climate action initiatives. Just click the “Offset” button after completing your calculation, and it will provide sustainable solutions to reduce and offset your event emissions.

Organizers will also receive a personalised e-Certificate recognising their sustainability efforts. If you fully offset your calculated event emissions, your event will be certified with a “NetZero Carbon Neutral Event Certificate” e-Certificate.

The total energy consumed is multiplied by standard emission factors to estimate greenhouse gas emissions associated with venue operations.

16. How is waste generation-related carbon footprint calculated?

Waste-related emissions are estimated based on the amount of solid waste, food waste, liquid waste, and plastic waste generated during the event.

Solid Waste Generated (excluding plastic waste): Food waste, paper, cardboard, cloth, decorations

Liquid Waste Generated: Wastewater, kitchen discharge, leftover liquids

Plastic Waste Generated: Bottles, disposable plastics, packaging materials

Improper waste disposal can release greenhouse gases such as methane and carbon dioxide. The calculator helps organizers understand the environmental impact of waste generation and encourages:

  • Waste segregation
  • Recycling
  • Composting
  • Plastic-free event initiatives

17. Can virtual or hybrid events also calculate carbon footprint?

Yes. Virtual and hybrid events can also estimate their carbon footprint. Although virtual events generally produce lower emissions than physical gatherings, emissions may still arise from:

  • Internet and server usage
  • Data streaming
  • Electricity consumption
  • Digital infrastructure and participant device usage

Hybrid events can combine both physical and virtual event emissions within the calculation.
